Which Side Are You On?

On Wednesday, April 9th, Colorado Jobs with Justice will have its first fundraiser of 2008! The Romero Theater Troupe will be performing "Which Side are You On?", an excellent play about the history of the American Labor Movement and the hopes of a new generation of working people. This event will take place at The Oriental Theater. Tickets are $8 for students and union members and $12 for adults. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the show starts at 7:00 PM. All proceeds from this show will benefit Colorado Jobs with Justice. I saw this show in February and it is great! I hope to see everyone there.

Chipotle Action

The action at Chipotle yesterday was great! About 80 people enjoyed street theater, marched and chanted in front of the Chipotle restaurant on 16th St., and filled the sidewalk in front of the corporate HQ making noise in support of the delegation of community leaders who were finally able to meet with company spokesman Chris Arnold. This action marks a significant step forward in this campaign. Thank you to everyone who showed up to show support for the Coalition of Immokalee Workers. Thanks also to the Denver Fair Food Committee for organizing such a great action! Photos were taken and video was shot and as soon as I have a few free moments to string together I will write a bit more about the action and post both the photos and video to this blog and make them available to other groups. Keep an eye out for information about the next step in this campaign.
